Review on OpenJump by Jeff Rhodes

As an undergraduate, I worked on using this and it was a great learning environment to be part of as we used it for my thesis research, so really helped me gain experience with mapping software and GIS. It's quite robust if you have certain skills, however having very basic coding or database knowledge would help too. Good for anyone looking for something a bit more complex than Google Maps. There are various features that can limit their applicability, and not all data sources support everything. For instance, when the user first logs onto our website they need to do a short survey before going to their area (which requires them to have some basic information). This means there will be a delay while they complete this online form which slows down access to areas until it loads properly. Using it as part of my Masters dissertation. I like that it's free, easy to use, and has great documentation! It doesn't have as many features as other platforms but if you're looking for something simple then this will do just fine. Nothing so far, but we've only been using it for about 2 months now. There are some more advanced mapping tools out there but they aren't always free or require additional software licenses which can be prohibitive. We were able to map our own building layouts with ease.
