I bought them for my kids who don't like open toe shoes. Great for summer, great for splash and river. My boys had no problems with chafing/blistering but my 3 year old had blisters on his heels. They wore them brand new in the water so it might have something to do with that. After wearing them all day for a week (and putting them on with wet feet after the pool or in the river), she could no longer wear them because her little feet were covered in blood. Band-aids and sneakers and she'll be fine, she might just want to break them in a little more.
