My driver's seat had a series of grilles that looked like cracks in black vinyl that had a geometric texture instead of a leather texture. Eventually I covered the entire area, troubled by the shiny mess that looked worse than the original crack. Then, every other day, moisten it and wipe most of the filler off, leaving it only in real cracks. I then painted the cracks the color of the vinyl and sealed them with clear caulk. This looks better than the original crack and I think it will hold together as the backing never cracked, but it took a lot of patience and skill to paint, blend and remove the filler skillfully. Overall I'm happy with the product as the cracks fuse and "heal" better but in no way go away as if they never appeared.
