I bought this as a (much) cheaper alternative to my current 30 year old mattress (don't judge too harshly - I'm a poor student and the mattress was free). It's definitely quality in terms of memory foam, but the cooling aspect is questionable. I bought this just before the heat wave hit my area and I feel like the foam hugging my body makes me even more uncomfortably hot. Also, if you're buying this mattress for a twin, I highly recommend using Twin XL sheets - the height of the foam padding necessitates that extra length for the sheets (or use sheet clips - they're great for this situation). . As far as comfort goes, I've found that there are only 2 or 3 pressure points on my long, thin and bony body, which makes sleeping on my back with this mattress topper pretty uncomfortable - my buttocks and shoulders sink into my butt, and mine Head and legs hardly indented. But side sleeping is amazing - the right support in the right places (at least with some adjustment for my legs). To sum it up "cool" is a dubious statement, some sleeping positions are definitely more comfortable, high quality memory foam material. 3 inches may be too much for short and/or bony people, and longer blades may be required.
