This set is supplied unassembled. Once you place the bottom "board" (which is actually cardboard) in the box, the box stands firm. There are no handles to carry the box. Handle on the front of the box to open the lid. The lid attaches to the front of the box with Velcro to secure and keep it closed. All sides match the lid of the box and it sits straight. For me, they work well for storing papers that I don't want to see and are also great for storing small photo albums or souvenirs. I wouldn't put anything very heavy in it, otherwise the box has to be moved a lot, I don't know if it can withstand that weight. Also, these are cute boxes that hide under my shelves and stay out of the way.
