Review on Astromania 1.25 Inch 7.5Mm 58-Degree Planetary Telescope Eyepiece by Jim Worthington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very nice eyepiece at a very good price.

I find this eyepiece to be excellent in all respects. It is as sharp as much more expensive brands and holds a quality image right to the edge of the field. The physical quality of the eyepiece is very solid and stable. The twist-up feature of the barrel giving you distance from the eye lens is a great feature and there is no sloppiness in the adjustment. The 58-degree field is plenty to offer very comfortable views without being unnecessarily wide. I find it to be just right. Eye relief is also comfortable and is something one must consider in such a short focal length eyepiece. And the choice of focal lengths is huge so you can get the right magnification needed. I wouldn't hesitate to get other focal lengths after using this fine, yet inexpensive model.

Pros
  • Wide Field of View
Cons
  • The 7.5mm eyepiece may not be suitable for observing objects at a distance
