Our 11 year old dog has become very picky about food in recent years. Due to severe gastrointestinal problems, he followed a prescription diet plus poultry and rice for most of his life. Needless to say it can be quite boring for him and we can only try so many things to cheer him up since he has stomach allergies and stuff like that. We've tried flavored food sprays, which are natural and got good reviews, but like all nutritional experiments, it's always a fluke (it ended up being a big mistake!). However, these basics powders are GREAT! We started on peanut butter because he LOVES his daily meds and can't get enough! After this success we decided to buy the chicken flavor and he loves it as much as the PB flavor. Now I will order more, maybe see what other flavors are available. My only "complaint" is that I wish the lid was a shaker lid instead of just opening, but that can be dealt with. I mixed the powder with water as directed to make a sauce for him and he loves it too. But the powder itself is his favorite. For those making the sauce I reduced the amount of water a bit and it was still too thin in my opinion so I decided to microwave it to thicken it and it came out great. perfect consistency! Of course if you do this, make sure it is cold before giving it to your pet and then store it in the fridge. We STRONGLY recommend these products for picky dogs! Please don't stop doing this!
