Review on πŸ”§ TI Bang Punisher Titanium Pocket Pry Bar Multi Tool - Keychain Bottle Opener by John Bailey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Superb $15 Titanium Tool

Let me start by saying that it's absolutely insane that you can buy this for what you get. It's not the best of the best when it comes to titanium tools, but can you compare a $400 tool to this one? ADVANTAGES - GREAT VALUE: Please take this because it's so cheap. Neat design for everyone who loves skulls and what not: While I'm not a huge fan of this one, I missed it. Neat Finish: There is a shiny smooth finish on the outside (and inside of the bottle opener) of the tool. The outer edges are beveled: you will not cut your hand or pry anything with this tool. Great size for a keychain, slightly larger than a key so perfect for a keychain. The magnet is tested for titanium: the only other material might be aluminum, but aluminum would be lighter (according to other reviews it's real titanium). The stubs on the sides are good for grip: thanks to the beveled edges, it's not too rough in the hands and adds to its coolness (in my opinion). CONS - The inside edge (where the key is located) is not beveled and has a rough edge. I would be careful not to put this in a tight bag. (It doesn't really affect how comfortable it is to hold.) It's a small tool and not meant for heavy use. If you use it to remove tires from trailer rims I would look elsewhere. This requires (due to its size) a keychain. However, the hole is not wide, but the hole is long. This makes it difficult to place anywhere and requires you to purchase key rings of the correct size and placement. It's a nitpick, but something to keep in mind (I recommend getting a key ring with it). The bottle opener is flat on the inside and has no inner edge to properly grip the cap. I've never needed a bottle opener, so personally I don't care. But after watching for this review I noticed that the bottle opener is not very good. The nail puller is offset at the end of the pry tool. I'm not talking about the offset of the end of the pickup relative to the overall tool, but relative to the end it is hooked to. It is noticeably shifted, but it does not interfere with the work of the nail puller or pliers. I already mentioned that this tool has a decent glossy finish. However, the machining marks are evident and there is no satin finish or sandblasting at all (which you may see on more expensive titanium instruments). There are zigzag marks on the ramp at the end of the handle, and there are tiny scratches that the finish cannot hide. I have reason to believe that this is a softer titanium, which is one of the reasons for the cost of this tool. But I don't have a problem with that, because I won't be chopping wood anytime soon. Functionally (as a peeping tool) I didn't find any problems with it.
