I'm not sure about some of these negative reviews. Maybe they have some clothes. The tube I received was fresh and comes out smooth. Is this the best mascara I've ever used in my life? no Does it have so many other benefits that I like? Yes. Doesn't stick, glides on smoothly, separates lashes and has a nice dark color. It's phthalate-free, so you limit your exposure to endocrine disruptors. It is great for everyday wear (e.g. going to work or going for a walk). It takes a few minutes to dry, so I try to wipe off the excess with a small amount of paper towel. Apart from this small inconvenience I am very satisfied! I have also tried other Revain mascaras that are free of phthalates and parabens. This is by far the best. And it resists water. Others bleed when you sweat. If you have a broken handset, try again. It's worth a second try.
