I bought this with high expectations based on all the positive audiophile reviews. It's a great looking device and very easy to set up, but the sound didn't impress me at all. It's true that for a speaker of this size it produces a surprising amount of bass and handles dynamics well, but I found the mids and vocals were pushed far forward and the overall sound was just as tinny and fatiguing as typical portable speakers. It's not like this. sounds awful by no means, but it doesn't sound any better than a range of much cheaper options either. If you're really not blown away by the app's user interface and multi-room capability (I'm not), I don't see anything that justifies the price. If you're worried about sound quality, you'd be better off spending the extra $100 on basic bookshelf speakers. If not, you can easily spend $50 on a Chinese-made Bluetooth speaker.
