Review on Burt's Bees Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste - Fluoride-Free Formula by Tracey Bacon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you are interested in coal.

If you're interested in the charcoal in this formula, I have to say I think it's just a gimmick. My dentist says there's no reason to start with charcoal in toothpaste. But then, this toothpaste really just capitalizes on the charcoal trend by coloring the toothpaste dark gray. It doesn't stay in the mouth like that - it actually just forms a white foam, which seems like another trick. But be that as it may, it's still a decent toothpaste that fits the bill: a trusted green brand, and it's fluoride-free, which is important to me because fluoride causes perioral dermatitis for me. (Ugh!) Zen Peppermint isn't the tastiest flavor in the world, but it's tolerable. I'm switching between Burt's Bees and Hello toothpaste and I'm starting to think I prefer Burt's Bees products in general. FYI: Burt's Bees is a zero waste company and they are much more transparent than many other cosmetic and personal care brands.
