The main disadvantage is the lack of a display when not in use. However, you can install a push bottom bypass switch so you can see the number. This is useful when trying to timely measure the heating system. I don't mount a bottom reset on the protection box, but leave a jumper wire in the box if I need a reset I can still do it. (Not everyone sees it.) The output is too small to read.
