Review on Kensington Fusion Wireless Trackball with Orbit Technology (Model K72363WW) by Alexander Roberson

I wish I'd read some of the recent reviews more carefully. I found almost the same issues reported by other users (jerky, erratic and clunky scroll ring, erratic tracking behavior in general regardless of dpi setting, and annoying left button double-tap). NOT EVEN CLOSE UP on the quality and smoothness of the Kensington Expert trackball that I've used a couple of times. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with the Expert's ergonomics and had high hopes for this new Orbit Fusion. Disappointed. Ordered last week, received in 1, maybe 2 days (lightning fast). I tried it right away. and was disappointed. For reference, my current trackball is the Logitech M570. and it looks like I won't be switching it to a different make/model any time soon (I already have another M570 as a spare just in case). However, as I thought the Orbit Fusion I received might be an underperforming device, I opened a chat session with support and a very friendly and helpful representative helped me with a replacement request that I received today have. Unfortunately, he had exactly the same problems. Another representative tried to help me and we explored several possible solutions, updating drivers, changing batteries, etc. But even if we could fix the erratic tracking behavior (which we couldn't), two "mechanical" issues remained Problems exist: Undesirable double-clicking of the left button and scroll ring. Feeling of clumsiness/cheapness. The first time I was concerned that the problems weren't just with this device, but with the entire series. Today this suspicion has almost become a certainty: I am almost certain that it is bad quality and bad design. However, after speaking to customer service for a few minutes and we couldn't resolve any of the issues, they gave me another return label. So I got my money back but a lot of time was wasted and my frustration with this product will not go away. If you still want to try this trackball, I sincerely wish you GOOD LUCK (and please share your experiences).
