Great sound and battery life. As others have said, it starts at maximum volume, but once you get used to it, it's easy to live with. It's heavy and strong, won't slip. I look forward to taking it to the beach this summer to see how it fares in the wind and salty air. I use it in the garden when I'm working and in the kitchen when I'm cooking. 15W is a GOOD 15W and as it's for personal use you shouldn't expect it to power a party. I've listened to some really expensive gear and for the price I can't beat it. Update: This unit has withstood the salt and sand of a beach, campfire smoke, and shower steam. He hit my 50cc scooter, threw himself in the back of a jeep and fell several times. I love it so much I bought a second one.
