I wasn't happy with these blue tip needles. You are very thin. I put in the first one when I was starting to put together my last quilting project, and before I had finished quilting it (with the running foot. Not even free motion quilting, just straight stitch quilting) I put in the last one. Meanwhile, after purchasing it, I found that some of the skipped stitches I encountered on another project had more to do with the thread and fabric I was using than machine needles. I don't understand why sewing machine needles have become so expensive. I used to buy 5 pack Kenmore needles which were THE BEST for under $2 and even they went up to $5-6 a pack before Sears stopped selling them. UNBELIEVABLE. (RIP OFF is a good description too!) Those blue tip needles I got were an expensive investment, didn't work as well and weren't as durable as other brands of #11 needles I've used. Perform the same style of basting and quilting and even free motion quilting. Janome makes fantastic sewing machines, it really is a disservice to their brand when they offer their sewing machine needles at such a high price and then make them of such poor quality.
