Lightweight and discreet, save you from worry.

This is a cautious traveler's best friend. I first used it on a solo hike in the US. In fact, it was the first and last time I used it and I'll explain why later. It's definitely very handy, especially when I'm traveling in dangerous areas where I felt like I was being robbed. I usually wear it under my shirt and it serves as an emergency stash, so I mainly use it to hold my passport and spare money/credit cards. For daily cash or card use, this comes out of the wallet. Since I wear it under my shirt, there's not really a subtle way of getting anything out that defeats its purpose. The neck lace is very comfortable to wear, it is designed with a soft backing so it is smooth to the touch. I didn't like the way it hung around my neck so I usually wear it over my shoulder under a top which also makes it a bit more discreet as it sits in the crook of my waist. With a jacket or a looser sweater, this thing literally disappears and doesn't stand out. However, how discreet it is ultimately depends on the amount of cash you are carrying. I also liked that it has many compartments so it's easy to separate money, cards, passport, jewelry, etc. However, I've only used it once because I've found that protecting my belongings comes down to common sense. As I became a more confident traveler, I realized that keeping an eye on my belongings AND my surroundings was a triumph. If you're traveling to a hot place where you tend to wear a tank top, showing where your valuables are doesn't help at all. The Velcro fastener also makes it less conspicuous to use. Today I only carry a small Eastpak bag which is always on and in front of me and it has been working ever since.
