It may sound silly, but one of my favorite things about Christmas Eve is the melt (which I've bought several times because it smells like "winter" to me, not Christmas, so I have it used in months) the wax melts and then comes out of my heating pad. Some melts just seem to stick and it's difficult to change the transition without wasting the next one you use as you get a mix of old and new. We suck up old wax while it's still liquid to make kindling. I find the smell quite intense for about 2 hours and then gradually wears off over another hour or so. It works for me because it smells in the common areas of the house without being overpowering during a party and to be honest if you're expecting a very strong smell after such a long time your nose will probably get "more". need to keep smelling. it is anyway. :)
