Review on Premium Japanese-Made Paper Texture Screen Protector for Surface Pro 6/5/4 - Stylus Pen Compatible, Matte, Anti Glare, Scratch Resistant - High Quality [1 Pack] by Ashley Coffman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Feels and sounds like very rough paper

The plastic screen protector is much stronger and thicker than I thought which is normal, but it seems to reduce touch and stylus sensitivity, if only slightly (pen pressure sensitivity suffers more than touch, which is to be expected). Installation was straightforward, but a bit confusing, mostly because of the full-screen dust shield that you're supposed to attach first. I understand and appreciate the point of using it, but if you're doing the installation yourself, it's best to put the dust cover on and off a few times just to catch any dust particles that may have settled on the screen. , and then set it aside before installing the screen protector yourself. A few air bubbles I got during installation came out easily enough if I rubbed a bit and gently but firmly pushed the bubbles out of the edges. The big problem and the real reason for my average score is the texture of the screen protector itself. . It's more like fine sandpaper than regular paper, and in just a few days of use, it wears away a good chunk of the nib of my Surface Pen, using one of the toughest grade 2H all-plastic nibs; The little rubber tip that comes standard with the pen probably won't even last that long. I wouldn't make too much of a fuss if these tips didn't cost over $6 a piece direct from Microsoft. I've only been using this screen protector for about a week, so I'll give it more time and try a few third-party pen tips with it as well, but I think at some point I'll probably switch to a different screen protector that's softer and doesn't chew through the pen tips as easily .
