Review on Acer Convertible Chromebook 11 6 Touchscreen Octa Core by Chris Floyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good deal on a lightweight laptop

This is my first experience with a Chromebook and despite a bit of a learning curve I think it's pretty good. I bought this for my son who needed something lighter to work with as all home schooling is due to COVID. Out of the box it was in "new" condition with no visible signs of use on the outside or the screen. The setup was pretty slick. I found everything I needed to set it up for school by browsing the App Store, and after reading a few online tutorials I figured out how to make tactile navigation easier for my son. I really like that it works in both tablet and laptop modes, as well as in tablet stand mode (keyboard down), as the latter mode makes using the touchscreen particularly easy. It's quite large for an 11-inch screen and very heavy for a tablet, so my son can't carry it around the house as easily as his other devices, but it works great on a desk and can move around. If necessary. The battery life seems to be good. The charger, UBC-C, is a bit bigger than it should be, but that's okay. Incidentally, a charger is included, but it is packaged in such a way that it can be missed when opening the box. So check the box before you think it's not there.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Annoying
