There was a manufacturing defect (hence the 4 stars for reliability) but the seller sent me a new one straight away with no problems. The new one works well, there are no defects. Record our search and rescue dog training on rubble heaps where there are many odd shaped concrete slabs, poles, rebar, metal objects, pallets etc that we can also attach a tripod to. It holds my relatively heavy iPhone 7S with a sturdy Otterbox case with no sagging etc. So far I am happy with this product and I would recommend it to my colleagues and friends and I would buy it again. I have another famous brand and this one is better. If my opinion changes, I will update my review. Pros: Holds up well in the area, grip material on the legs is quite nice. Does not "sag" under the weight of the iPhone 7S and a heavy otter. The legs are longer than some others on the market, making it easier to attach to larger girth poles. The legs are all one piece (ie no little "pods" that stick together and can pop out in some situations). The phone holder attaches via a screw base like many tripods and you can therefore add different phone holder mechanisms if you wish (I did this and it worked great). The seller was VERY responsive to the manufacturing defect and the new device delivered was perfect with no visible defects. Cons: If you have a large iPhone with an Otterbox case, the mount may not reach far enough to securely hold the phone. However, since there is a screw base mount, you can easily replace it with a larger holding mechanism. I did not find any other minuses; except for the defect in the first block (the replacement block had no defect).
