The camera software lacks a very simple and usually standard option to disable infrared (IR) night mode. This causes two problems. When the light is on outside, that's usually enough to record, and you'll get a much better image quality than night mode.2. If your cameras are behind glass (inside your house and pointing out the window), the camera with IR blinds itself and you can't see anything at all. Manufacturers have added a day mode to their NVR software, at least as a precaution. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be corrected and change my rating to 5 stars.
