Review on dbx 1231 Dual-Channel, 31-Band Graphic Equalizer in Sleek Black Finish - Enhance your Audio with Precision Control by Tasha Price

Very good component

I wasn't expecting the high quality, robustness and EQ of this EQ. I have good monitors and good headphones and I don't hear any white noise. The sliders are well done, and whether you raise the sliders for more boost or lower the sliders for lower play, it doesn't sound like anything is missing or added. I'm a blues musician. and have 3 resonators. for you reading this that has a resonator. You know how difficult it is to get a smooth sound. The DBX 1215 puts me in the driver's seat. There is one caveat. Bottom notch buttons and buttons for less or more ability (sliders) You need to have something around them, like a handle, to push them because they're recessed. I thought there was something wrong with my block. but apparently so as not to accidentally shove them in. This is the only downside. I've always stayed away from EQ because I thought it was obvious. and I would just use positioning with acoustics or an amp with very decent mics. I still do, of course, but now I feel like I have complete control of the situation. Good product.!

Pros
  • Inputs: 1/4" TRS, XLR jack (pin 2 hot) and locking terminal block
Cons
  • Hard to tell
