89-year-old stroke victim loves it!

I bought this for my 89 year old great aunt about 2 months ago. A few years ago she had a stroke that left her mostly paralyzed on one side. She spends most of the day on her favorite couch, which fits her body and is comfortable, but now sags enough that her hips are below her knees when she tries to get up. She ends up relying on her guardians to pick her up and put her in a chair, which is unsafe for either of them. I bought this couch stick to see if it could help her get up by giving her something to hold onto with her strength. She loves it! The rocking table is the perfect height for her to eat on the couch. It rotates 180 degrees and she can take it anywhere she wants to solve puzzles or have dinner. She likes a drink holder that keeps her glass where she can see it and prevents it from being knocked over by her or the cat. We have a stick in the right center of the couch for her to use with her right (strong) hand. Side. The cane's handle is wide, but that seems to help as she can use it to pull herself forward to stand up and to push herself to stand up straight. She says "It's not very feminine" when she switches from sitting to lying down because we have to elevate her legs with a stick, but it's worth it. She's feeling a bit more independent and using more of her own power to get up and down, which will hopefully help her maintain her strength for as long as possible. She tells us how much she loves the sofa tube every time we go downstairs. Fantastic purchase.
