This mattress topper is quite decent for the price you pay. I think this will protect the mattress very well. As you can see, it has a more slippery/waterproof bottom and a softer upper. The top is NOT the softest fabric in the world but I don't mind that much because it goes under the fitted sheet. Pocket depth is pretty good. I have an 11 inch memory foam mattress and the mattress topper fits snugly and hasn't lifted from the edges despite moving in my sleep. I'm not sure if this would work if I had a very tall mattress or one of those memory foam toppers. The depth seems great for standard mattresses, but it's not very deep. In general, this is a pretty basic mattress topper. Makes something and the price is reasonable. If you're looking to add more pillows you should probably look elsewhere, but if you just want to protect your mattress from spills or stains this is a good choice.
