Currently attached to the strap of my carpenter's tool bags at 2 o'clock and this is still a turning point. I need to be able to equip my hammer quickly. often, and if you have it at 2 o'clock the whole process is a breeze compared to traditional tuning with the hammer loop positioned behind you at 5/6 o'clock. Surprisingly, the hammer head and handle do not interfere. and virtually no hit on the hanging handle. I've even tried keeping it in the reverse orientation (head to the ground and grips to the sky) and it honestly doesn't hinder your movement much, but if you're working with your hands mostly at waist level then get it with the grip would be up not ideal. Can't comment on durability yet, but I hope it will hold up because I no longer have to resort to a traditional hinge. My tool belt gets thrown a lot (in and out of work carts) so only time will tell if it can withstand the abuse.
