Exceeded my expectations for a dash cam!

I've had this camera for a month now and I've been very impressed by it's performance and the quality of the video it provides. Always wanted a dash cam, but felt that they were too expensive for the quality of footage they provided. That definitely isn't the case here. Both front and rear cameras take extremely clear and easily played back footage, even when they're not set to 4k. I did buy the hard wire installation kit so that the cameras would keep recording when the car is off, and I would definitely recommend doing the same. The entire installation process was very straightforward, and while it does take a little time to get all the wiring tucked away and the back camera mounted, it's worth taking your time and making it look neat and right. I was able to pop the back panel off the inside of my trunk door and feed the wire for the rear camera out of one of the license plate screw holes, and mounted the camera below that while tucking the wires safely away. Much easier than I thought it would be.A couple of suggestions. The 128MB micro SD card that it comes with is sufficient, but if you have it set to 4k, and especially if it's running all day long, you won't get much more than one day's worth of video before it's full and writes over itself again. I do like that the emergency recordings last a full week before they get auto-erased, however. It's also very easy to transfer them to your computer, I was going to post one along with this review but I have to edit one down to a smaller file size first. The touch screen controls genuinely work great and are more or less intuitive, but it's worth reading the instruction guide since swiping up / down & left / right at different point on the screen do different functions. It took me a bunch of attempts to figure out how to switch between views on screen by myself, but it was completely easy once I read the instructions.I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this camera to anyone looking for a cool car upgrade. We've owned multiple Nexigo products, including a couple of webcams for our computers, and they've proven to be worth the money and repeat business as a customer.

  • Expensive: At a higher price point compared to other dash cams on the market, the NexiGo D90 (Gen 2) 4K Mirror Dash Cam may not be within the budget of some consumers
