Epson is not only trying to coerce or trick you into doing its automated scam into sending you more ink, but if you are naively getting a firmware update from them accept, screwed again. Firmware update sounds like a good idea, right? I've done several in the past with no apparent problems. But this time, right after completion, the printer refused to recognize compatible third-party cartridges. I've successfully printed from those that have been installed for a month or more, but after this update the printer doesn't recognize the same ones that were working fine! Now it's impossible. The printer won't let me print until I replace the X brand cartridges (did I mention they worked fine?) with Epson cartridges which are three times the price. Epson, this is simple blackmail: "You have a good printer. arrived. It would really be a shame if he stopped typing in the middle of an important business. Now we have a safety bat. Our home computer desk is set up so that the only practical place for a printer is in a closet just off the floor. It's a little awkward to put paper and other stuff in, but that's not a problem. But to do anything that involves reading that tiny screen, you literally have to get on your hands and knees on the floor in front of it. From any other angle, all you can see is that the screen is lit. You can't read anything on it.
