I bought these trays by accident and I really like them! What surprised me and what nobody talks about is that they cool much better than a bunch of standard little cubes. I drink iced coffee (cold brew) all day and it's great with these cubes. One cube cools a 16 ounce cup full of coffee with cream. Others have problems with white matter in the water. I only use filtered water (PUR, that's a two-stage filter) for coffee and ice. I haven't seen any problem and I haven't noticed any bad taste or smell. The only thing I noticed is that the cubes are a bit difficult to release from the shell. I roll the tray, then press it down and wrap the edges of the tray around the cube. I immediately ordered two more bowls. I also have large tovolo balls. These bowls are much less complicated than spheres, and the dice fit in many other containers, jars, etc. They are generally much easier to use. FYI, these bowls are BPA free. ****Update**** I'm discovering that I only use these dice. For everything. I also use them at night in double wall plastic glasses and after a few hours my drink is still cool enough. I throw away all other ice cube trays. ******** Update **** I noticed that after a while (months of use) one of my tablets started to smell. I filled the tray with a solution of vinegar and water (well diluted), let it sit for 5 minutes, rinsed, let dry and the smell was gone. The packaging says to rinse regularly with vinegar and water and I can see why. My favorite ice cube tray so far. Also, I sometimes half fill in some gaps so I can make a smaller cube if I want. Works perfectly. Enjoy!
