Review on πŸ”ͺ Efficient HSM Shredstar S25 Strip-Cut Shredder: Shreds 25 Sheets, 6.9-Gallon Capacity, Sleek White Design by Brent Mosley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Makes a lot more noise than the old black models and the handle is in. Not so good!

I bought some old black models and was very happy with them so I went and bought a new white version. Unfortunately, in my opinion, these white devices are not as good as their black predecessors. They still appear to be designed for continuous paper shredding, which is a huge plus. Too many other grinders run for X minutes and then let the grinder cool for Y minutes. The CD/credit card shredder has a limited lifespan, but for almost everyone this shouldn't be a problem as they get a new credit card, shred the old one, etc. The pen goes in the bin first. Container, and it's also up and down instead of horizontal. This makes pulling out the waste bin a bit more difficult, but that's okay, just not as functional as the handle on the black modules. The big, big difference is that this module makes a little more noise when shredding than the equivalent black HSM Shredstar PS820C. I was honestly spoiled by how quiet the blacks were and expected the same or better from the "latest and greatest" models. If you're looking for a quiet grinder, buy one of the black models or look elsewhere. I would like to point out that the white paper shredder is quieter than some others I've bought from stationery stores in the past, but the retail price was an order of magnitude lower. black models, and the price is about the same. Not a step up, but a step down. For reference, I'd give the equivalent black device five stars, and I have three.
