Review on πŸ” BW Technologies GA24XT-M GasAlertClip Extreme 2-Year CO Detector - Accurate Measurement Range 0-1000 ppm, 35 to 200 ppm Alarm Setpoint by Chad Dahl

Good detector but not what I need.

--- I'm a little dissatisfied with the GA24XT-M GasAlertClip Extreme. It got here quickly and seems to be working as it should, but it's not doing what I need it to. I need to know if a co-substance is present at levels below 35ppm and there is no way to determine that with this device. If co exceeds either limit (factory set and cannot be changed by the user) you can view the details (within 24 hours) and see what the value was. --- I've had Co detectors at home that give a reading when Co is above 10ppm and then beep at various higher levels. Since this device advertises a measuring range of 0-1000 ppm, I expected something like this. Not only will it never show the current co-level, it will range from 0 to 300 in some places and 0 to 1000 in others. Reason why this will not be a good device for you. If you need to see current readings in real time, or if you want to know about readings below 35ppm, spend money on this model. --- I tested it near a propane stove and it seems to react to the presence or absence of gas. level after about 5 or 10 seconds. The first press of the button activates the device. You can't turn it back on. It should last two years or longer, depending on how much it bothers you. With a little more understanding of co-detectors, I did a little more research and just ordered a detector from Sensorcon. The model name appears to be "Carbon Monoxide Inspector". It costs $119.00 plus shipping from Revain, just a little more than the GasAlertClip. And their website specifically says to show ppm levels as low as 2 or 3ppm, so I think that will do what I need.

  • This is amazing
Cons
