I used to have a very similar probe but without the external wired probe. My old sensor became intermittent and can now only be used in the partially closed position. I took it apart and the manufacturer used small solid core wires to enter the sensor, so of course they broke after a few sensor holes. This device is probably from the same manufacturer as many others, but this one has an extra wired probe connector. Not only can this external sensor be used in an oven with the main unit outside, it even has an alarm that will beep when the set temperature is reached. I like it. So now they sell it with TWO sensors so it's a fallback in case one fails. And an alarm that shows you a fail-safe cooking temperature. And at a very good price. What do you not like here?
