Used it to upgrade a crappy 4GB computer (3.8GB recognized) with this flash drive. It's now 12GB (11.8GB recognized) and works great. So yes, you can have an unequal amount of RAM and anything will be recognized by Windows 10 as long as it's the same RAM speed. (But even if it doesn't, Windows will run it at the speed of a slower flash drive. Regardless, so far so good. RAM usage has gone from 89% idle to 19% idle and 34% dropped with firefox.Computer lags are much less now and navigating windows is much faster.I recommend you buy a cheap desktop with 4gb ram (which works like a poo - even if only running windows 10) and then the ram upgrade yourself cheaply with Upgrade your RAM to at least 8GB – that's the minimum in 2019 – or up to 12 or 16GB for more future-proofing.
