It will just fall off and become useless. I attached the collar and then tugged on it to make sure it was attached properly and everything looked the way it was. Then a few hours later I noticed that my dog was not wearing a collar. This happened several times before I decided this collar was defective. Fortunately, I discovered this almost immediately and it only happened while we were at our house. Unfortunately this meant I couldn't risk walking my dog as he is a very wild 6 month old pup and who knows where he will run if the collar falls off. Now I'm looking for a collar that is just as cute but really functional.
