I knew installing it would be a daunting task, but mostly you wait for updates. The printer worked as a wireless printer on my phone, laptop and iPad. Just not for very long. The paper is jammed on the fourth printout. I unblocked it. The printer showed an error code. I kept trying to find the jammed paper, but the printer barely worked. Some online help says that error 48 is due to a bad circuit board or printhead. The troubleshooting guides you through the places where the printer can jam and at the end, when all else fails, suggests that you contact a service center. I spent an hour on this, but the error message hasn't gone away. This printer is marketed as "up to 1 year ink". But the manual says something about "first ink". These are large cartridges, but the ones in the box aren't very full when you start the printer and fill them with ink. Look at the picture. I wanted to get another one but the ink solved it for me. I don't think it's a lot of ink. I had a bad experience with HP and their "free inks". I tried to join, but the printer could not register with the web service. It's back to Best Buy. I don't like new marketing games, big ink, free ink or anything like that. Somewhere someone is paying. I'm going back to my 13 year old laser even if I have to run it on Linux.
