Review on Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens - Optimized for Canon EOS SLR Cameras by Vanchay Peawang ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

After the purchase, he was disappointed with him, he pretty much lathered on large focal lengths. I gave the lens for adjustment at the office. Canon service. The procedure is not cheap, but after adjustment, even at 300mm, sharp shots are obtained. Best sharpness at f8-f9.5. So, whoever is not satisfied with its sharpness, bring it into alignment. Regarding its "darkness", at 300mm and f5.6 at a distance of 3m, the depth of field will be only 2 centimeters, and at a distance of 100m the depth of field will be about 20m, so you are unlikely to need a large aperture. And when you need it, then buy an L-ku. Chromatic aberration, if shot in raw, is well treated by DPP. Camera: 650D

Pros
  • Excellent value for money for what you can get. Focal lengths of 70-300mm on the crop turn into 112-480, which is more than enough for handheld shooting. Excellent working stabilizer. Fairly fast autofocus, though not usm. Sufficiently sharp in the entire range of the FR (after adjustment).
Cons
  • No hood included and no red stripe. The front lens rotates when focusing. If you install the native lens hood the other way around (to the transport position), then it closes the focus ring. It is more convenient to use a rubber folding hood.

Different pros: Sharp already at f / 5.6 from 70mm to 200mm (which cannot be said about the second version of the lens, it is sharp only from 200 to 300) The stabilizer is excellent, but noisy. Got cons: The lenses inside dangle the front part rotates when focusing (you don’t use a polarizer)

Maybe the situation is better on the crop, but only up to 150mm is suitable for a full frame, and then with a stretch.
