The manufacturer's seal had previously been broken and the box was only partially closed with clear cellophane tape. This tells me that this monitor was previously shipped to another customer and for some reason was returned and then RESHIPPED to me. How do I know if this is a defective or previously damaged device before plugging it into the new PC I bought with it? With electronics, you never know for sure; I did not receive an open box discount; I paid full price for a brand new monitor but that's not what I got.
