Light weight on bedding

Many reviews mention that this is a light weight duvet. It said almost nothing to me. Do I need extra blankets? Is it the opposite of a weighted blanket? Will it be blown away by strong winds? So. Here's a little more context talking about light weight. We keep our bedroom around 66-62 degrees during the night. The first few weeks outside were typical New England temps in the 68-32 degree range. I'm the kind of person who can get stuffy and it's just that the sheet doesn't feel adequately covered. When it's cold enough in winter, I often fight claustrophobia by leaning on blankets. It was just enough weight to be comfortable without being too heavy or too light, Goldilocks would have been pleased. We didn't have to add extra blankets or stretch our legs to cool off. Sized to be wider, don't look at the length guys. (Would have). He hid at the foot of the bed but barely climbed over the edges, maybe four inches to be generous. Yes, I could have measured beforehand, but it just didn't happen. I want to take the sidebar to mention the packaging. It came boxed in an Amazon box. Then a bag in a bag. With the first bag, it was mentioned that when cutting the bag, you have to be careful not to cut the quilt. What was really smart was they included a letter opener that would easily open two bags and have their logo and it would absolutely live in our inbox to open emails so thanks for that simple extra thought. Let's get back to the ceiling. We washed it upon receipt before putting it on the bed and it held up great and fluffed up. It's not as plump as a traditional duvet, but this duvet didn't hurt a goose, so it's fair trade. The fabric is difficult to describe, but it is pleasantly soft. The length really adds to the coziness as there was just enough of it to snuggle on top of. I would buy this blanket again without question.
