It hurts to wear them for a long time

I bought them for work so I'll have to use them all day. Well after wearing them for a little over an hour I had to take them off. They are too big for my ears and so painful to wear that it hurts to put them back in. The left earbud doesn't work most of the time. I need to return this item. I'm disappointed.
