Bought this machine to replace my 30 year old wonderful Kenmore 385. I didn't care what the machine looked like, I didn't want the machine to be computerized or I had a CD. started, I wanted to look at dials and knobs and see what they do. This machine has the most commonly used stitches in my opinion, nothing special, if you're looking for a lot of different stitches this machine isn't for you. It's mechanical what I wanted. So if it breaks I can set it up to fix it. I don't think I could do that with a computer controlled machine. The automatic needle threader is a blessing, a great feature of this machine. I believe feeders can go to quilting, but I'm not sure. As for strength, yes, he's stronger than my kenmore. The machine can fly, easily handles multiple layers without hesitation.
