Review on FoneLeash 3-in-1 Phone Lanyard with Neck, Wrist, and Hand Strap Tether - Black by Robert Yates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceeded my high expectations

EDIT 12/05/19: While I still really like the product, there is a design issue. As I mentioned before, since it's very thick, it pushes the phone against the edge of the case. This is a problem if you rely on the lip as a screen protector. In fact, I dropped it and hit it right where I needed it, the bottom corner where it was flush. It cracked, starting in that corner and spreading in shards across most of the screen. I would have liked a thinner strap. I bought foneleash to manage my phone while buying Instacart and Shipt. I had multiple requirements and felt I had to compromise. I need a strap because I wanted to pick up and put my phone down while shopping without losing it and I didn't want it attached to a shopping cart or hand mount. It should be long enough for me to scan items easily. I need the phone on a car mount while driving, so it needs to detach from the lanyard quickly and still fit in the mount. I have a great and very secure case on my phone so I didn't want anything that would force me to remove the case or take a lot of time to install. And I definitely didn't want silicone that might (will) crack. Foneleash meets all my requirements and so far I love it! It installs very quickly in the case I already have. I love that I can easily put it on and take it off quickly. And it all looks good and well built. It also has a satin texture that makes it very comfortable on my neck. I was concerned it might be heavy as my neck is very sensitive to compression headaches, but I hardly notice I'm wearing it. As a bonus, you can use it as a hand or wrist strap. I've used both ways way more times than I thought! I thought I'd only use it when I'm at work, but I think I can leave it on more often just because it makes my phone so easy and safe to use at other work, running errands, or just hanging out to sit on the sofa couch. . (Did I mention I'm surprisingly clumsy?) If I had to complain it would be that the leash is so slippery it slips in the buckle, so I put the strap on quite often. But that's a very small problem! It does not limit the use of any part of the phone; This makes it impossible to use some larger charging cables with my case as it adds 1 or 2mm to the thickness of the phone so it doesn't sit perfectly flush in the case. It sits securely there, though, and it's not difficult to use a different cable with a smaller connector (standard Lightning cables work just fine). It would be a bonus if the strap had an adjustable length and an even bigger bonus if it had a retractable option. If anyone is listening. Will definitely be ordering again so I can wash and wear one and also just order a different pattern or color!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
