****** Before you can repair your air conditioner, you must properly remove the refrigerant from the air conditioner by a qualified/certified technician. Failure to evacuate the air conditioner before working on the unit could result in death or injury. Installed this air conditioning compressor on my 2005 Tacoma 4.0 V6. When disconnecting the lines from the compressor, put a paper towel in the line hole or a suitable size cap to cover the AC line hole, because you need to clean a flat surface after removing the compressor. AC lines where the washer/O-ring is installed. Make sure it is really clean and be careful not to scratch or damage the AC wire/pipe sealing surface. A Note * These are not the traditional o-rings used on the 2nd Gen Tacoma. These are metal washers with nitrile seals built/attached into the metal washer. So be sure to order these as well, and they come with the 2nd Gen Tacoma. One more note * Please note that you must torque the compressor line bolts to factory torque specifications. Then pull a vacuum, close the AC distribution manifold gauges and wait 10 or 15 minutes to ensure the vacuum holds. If the vacuum holds, you can create a deep vacuum in the system. If the vacuum doesn't hold, you will need to tighten the AC line screws a little more, about 1/8 turn at a time, until you get a vacuum to hold. I wasn't sure if this compressor came with oil so I emailed the company I bought it from and while waiting for a response I decided to give them a call. The person I spoke to said it was oil. But when I got a reply email they said it came with no oil. Well it comes with oil BUT take a bottle of PAG46 oil and pour the oil from the new compressor into a clean measuring cup making sure it is the required 4.5oz (iirc). You can reuse the oil poured from the compressor if you add anything you need. Also remember to apply some PAG46 oil to the gaskets before installation, this will help the gaskets to seat/seal properly. I've had it installed for about a week and it's working great so far. I measured the temp at the outlet of the vents in the dash area and got a temp of 39°F and that's on 90-95° days. So I'm excited about this compressor. This is a fairly simple process. And don't forget to replace the dryer. Hope that helps
