This is a good option for cat perches, especially if you don't want a supported platform-style setup coming down from above. Above. If your cat enjoys being in the "bucket" of the scratching post, chances are she'll enjoy it very much. Assembly is very easy and the instructions are clear. These are the strongest suction cups I've seen on a cat shelf (let's go back to those platform shelves). It was going on solidly, and so far not even the heat from my deserted west window had been able to peel it off. My cat seems fine with this and started scratching the included cushion as soon as it was inserted. My only minor issue is that the vertical footprint is quite large due to the metal braces on the bottom; You need a few inches of space between the bottom edge of the window and where the shelf will be. As already mentioned, the shelf itself is quite small. My cat is only 6.5 pounds for the same small stature and she can curl up and relax on it perfectly, but will not be able to fully stretch like she sometimes does. Otherwise an excellent product. If I had to choose between the size of other products and the strength of this one, I would buy this product again.
