The first bulb I used to replace the spotlight stopped working after less than a month: the multimeter shows no conductivity on. The previous bulb lasted over 15 years (never changed since we bought the house). I put in the second bulb, it works, but it's been less than a week. I should note that this motion activated spotlight is outdoors and contains 2 bulbs. One lamp (to the left) is "before we bought the house" and is working. This is another lamp (right) that has had to be replaced twice in the past month. So it could be that contact with that bulb will cause the bulbs to burn out or something - unlikely but possible.
