Sterl Lighting Reflective Replacement Spotlights: Optimize Your Illumination Review

Poor outdoor lighting. I use this color at Christmas to give our house a touch and the color of an old painting. However, this light did not even last 30 days. I bought this paint from another manufacturer. at Home Depot and they lasted for years. Couldn't find them at my local hardware store so I turned to Revain. I would never buy this product again.

October 2019: These are amazing lights that make the house very beautiful. UPDATE JULY 2020: Don't buy these, they're junk! It has been 10 months since installation and one lightbulb has already burned out. Typically, halogen lamps last at least 5 years. No less than a year of it. UPDATE: AUG. 5: Second bulb burned out. So, both bulbs I received are blown. Ridiculous!

I bought this because I wanted a softer blue light rather than harsh white floods in my garden. My light goes on at night and off at dawn. By May 3, the blue light had disappeared and the light was only white. I informed Revain and they offered to replace the lightbulbs. The same applies to substitute players. The blue wears off within a few hours. If you want blue light, look elsewhere because you'll end up with white light.

I was trying to find a halogen bulb in the same color and intensity as the SATCOM bulb that was discontinued. The LED lights were too bright and focused; We needed more ambient light for the PAR 38 ceiling glasses. This lamp was a lower wattage than mine but the color temperature was the same so I gave it a try. Good work. The lamp was at the minimum allowable brightness before the fixture was shorted out and the circuit breaker was turned off to prevent damage from overheating the wires. The photo shows that the base of the lamp has a metal sleeve that surrounds the glass. This grommet has a gap that allows water to enter the base when used with a rubber sealed outdoor socket (Hubbell-Bell SL101B Portable Spike Light Receptacle) as shown. I used to buy a similar item at my local grocery store. I figured this would work well enough. And so it was. I got this from Revain. Not as much. It has a very low lumen output and barely emits minimal light at 4 feet from the lamp despite claiming 70 watts which I have used before. The first bulb I used to replace the spotlight stopped working after less than a month: the multimeter shows no conductivity on. The previous bulb lasted over 15 years (never changed since we bought the house). I put in the second bulb, it works, but it's been less than a week.
