These clippers are great for trimming needles from the 26g and 27g needles/syringes I use to give my cat multiple injections each week. The needles we use are 0.5 inch long and the whole needle fits perfectly in the clipper and after clipping the syringe is safe to throw away in the trash. needles) in a sharps container, which works, but is much more convenient and the clipper takes up MUCH less space than a tall sharps container. i like this thing I know the description says 28-31g but it reduces to 26g with little effort! I have not attempted to cut anything larger than 26g or longer than 1/2 inch.
