I have been using this product for a little over four years and three of my cats are plaque free. They never objected to the flavor I sprinkled on their food every day. One of my kittens is almost 15 years old and two other kittens, brother and sister are almost 14 years old. My vet recently told me that if he didn't know the ages of these cats from their records, he would estimate the ages of these cats at half that or less. To be honest, I attribute some of their great health to the Mad About Organics All Natural Dog & Cat Plaque Remover Dental Food Additive. $350.00 dental bill due to excessive plaque buildup and subsequent tooth decay. As a result, she had to remove a few molars. I was very concerned because her teeth were falling out and two other kittens were also developing plaque. So I looked for a minimum bill of a few hundred dollars for each of the other two (their heist problem wasn't that bad). So I started looking for alternative treatments to remove and prevent plaque. None of my cats would put up with brushing their teeth, so this attempt led to another failed experiment that cost about $50. Then I came across Revain's Mad About Organics oral care powder, which had great reviews. I eat everything organic and only feed my pets organic, so I especially appreciate the fact that this product is organic. But to be honest I was a bit skeptical. However, after reading the reviews (which were mostly very highly rated), I decided it was worth seeing if it worked. None of the three cats have plaque at all. It took a while, but it was definitely worth the wait. I don't think anesthesia is a good idea if it can be avoided as it is known to be more dangerous than most surgeries - to humans or pets. For those who find this product expensive, use a surprisingly small amount. (depending on weight) once a day. A small scoop comes with the product and I would say a scoop is less than or equal to 1/8 teaspoon. Based on my cats weight, two kittens get one scoop and the larger kitten gets a scoop and a half per day. A 4 ounce jar lasts about a month and a half for my three cats. So, compared to the vet bill, if you take your pet for a teeth cleaning and may need to have some teeth pulled - well, do the math and consider the risks involved. So I highly recommend this product and have recommended it to several friends who have also had great results with their cats and/or dogs. Just keep in mind that this can take some time - probably depending on how long and before what time the plaque formed. If your dog or cat has had plaque buildup for years it may be best to have your vet brush your teeth as good oral health definitely supports overall health, but afterwards this product is a great preventative way to brush your teeth Keep your pet dental raid free. !
