Normal low C stand with some flaws

I'm always amazed when I see 5 star reviews for these great value stands. I mean 5 stars should mean it's perfect. Well, this stand isn't perfect. They're an improvement over the older versions they created, but they still have issues. The first problem is that the sections are spring loaded. You may think this is good because if you weaken knowledge, whatever you establish will not collapse. Well that may be true, which is what will happen if your heavy piece of gear falls, it compresses the spring in the sections and then lifts into the air with an incredible force that could easily knock your gear off the stand or worse. Fly back to the hand or face. No, struts are not a good idea. This is why you don't see companies like Matthews or Kupo making spring pads. They either have an air cushion that causes no recoil, or nothing at all. Proper use of the C-Rack is to securely hold equipment or the top of the rack when you loosen the clamps. The foam on the center post is not securely attached to the post and simply slides up and down the post. Just keep this in mind when transporting the stand and hold on to the foam as the stand will slide all over you. The top of the stand does not have a traditional baby needle remover. The pen is actually part of the top column. It's not the worst thing in the world, but I prefer to be able to use whatever type of pin I like. This limits some of the stand's functions, but to be honest most people will probably be using a baby pin anyway, so it really won't affect many people. They have increased the weight of the stand compared to their previous versions. It's much lighter than the old ones. If you absolutely can't afford the extra $30-$35 for an Impact brand stand (it's the best budget stand I know of right now), this stand will get the job done as long as you're careful with the spring mechanism.
