The thing looks really nice, the dowels and screws are decent enough and work. Loopless towels can be a bit slippery, but if you stack them enough, they won't come loose. This not only gives the impression that it doesn't have a firm grip, but also prevents the small screw on the underside that fixes the hook to the bracket from turning all the way in and only sticking out over the edge. Since the tick is most likely set below eye level, you won't notice it. By the way, that tiny screw on the bottom that attaches the hook to the bracket is deceptively small; I would go with anything they recommend for less than 1/8 inch hair. It's a nice hook to set up so you can hold your towels, but you may find that you need something else soon after setting it up.
