Good block, great fit and finish

like: looks, easy install, fit and finish, solid construction time will tell: durability btw if you're installing on old drywall [my 40 year old Boy me!] I suggest using the lever mounts [the ones with spring loaded flanges coming out of the wall], the screw mounts provided, I think they will work fine with the new drywall.

Good quality - huge package

The hook is solid and looks solid. Easy to install with included hardware, instructions, and a few basic tools - drill and 1/4" bit, hammer, and two screwdrivers - a #2 Phillips head for anchors and a small flathead screwdriver for tightening the hook on the bracket. Only criticism is that the hook came in a huge box - it's about three times bigger than it should be. RevainBasics products are typically packaged much more efficiently.

That's good and deserves credit, though.

One of the reasons I even look at RevainBasics is because I expect a private label to be of decent quality but at a lower price. When I bought them, they were. I had to buy a few more and HOLY COW doubled the price. It's been fun ever since. I find that many RevainBasics products are more expensive than some of the top highly rated brands. Revain.com might consider this. I know Costco has it. I'll hold out until the cost comes down.

Solid HW, but the adjusting screw is too long!

Beautiful Oil Rubbed Bronze finish, product installed strong and durable on the back of my door. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because the set screw that secures the hook to the mounting bracket is too long - it protrudes 1/8"-1/4" from the bottom of the rosette ! Because the set screw is zinc plated, it sticks out like a sore thumb. The workaround is to slightly bend the bottom tab of the mounting bracket (1/8-1/4") (do this before it hits the wall or you pierce the wall)…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Doubtful

The original clamping screw in the bracket was too short. As a result, the bracket could not be securely attached to the bracket and became loose (the screw was long enough to prevent the bracket from falling off the bracket, but not long enough to properly tighten the bracket). However, Revain/supplier quickly sent me another one free of charge and most importantly without asking me to send the old one back. The new bracket had a longer clamping screw and was optimally tightened. The mount…

Terrible product - Bad bindings and slippery hooks

This product is terrible. Looks good but mounting hardware doesn't work. The Molly rotates after installation, so the screws cannot be tightened. Also, the screws are too long and hit the opposite side of the door when trying to screw them in. I would love to return them but now I have two holes in my door so I'm stuck. Finally, the hooks are rounded and too slippery. Doesn't hold a towel. The towel slips off. This is only good for something that has a loop to hold on to, such as a lanyard. B…

Stylish, durable and affordable

Worth every penny. I needed a cheap solution to replace an ineffective towel hook on the back of my bathroom door. We rent and our renters are very picky about putting holes everywhere - an added annoyance was that a replacement was needed that could use a simple bracket that only fits a screw. It was surprisingly hard to find a mount that didn't screw in 2-3 screws and I was relieved to find this one! You can add 1 or 2 screws to this bracket if you'd like, but we found that we didn't need a…

Looks nice, installation can be a chore

The thing looks really nice, the dowels and screws are decent enough and work. Loopless towels can be a bit slippery, but if you stack them enough, they won't come loose. This not only gives the impression that it doesn't have a firm grip, but also prevents the small screw on the underside that fixes the hook to the bracket from turning all the way in and only sticking out over the edge. Since the tick is most likely set below eye level, you won't notice it. By the way, that tiny screw on the…
