As one reviewer said, there are no problems with the picture quality, in fact the picture quality is sharper and the contrast is better than when connected directly to VGA a graphics card. .However! When the monitor/video card switches video mode or goes into standby mode, the monitor will be locked in detection mode (ie check the video cable, it is not connected). Resetting the computer, shutting down and turning off the monitor will not resolve the issue, only unplugging the cable at both ends will resolve the issue. Now I can't figure out why this is a fix and not just a reset. Although I have a hypothesis that this cable uses a conversion chip that may have a firmware bug. Edit: I sliced it open and found that it actually uses a DAC. I also noticed that the circuit board was wrapped in duct tape. It's a massive no-no. I'm a class 3 SMT operator, this violates IPC standards and for good reason. Masking tape creates static, so this DAC is defective. If you need to tape things off with protective resin, use Capton or RTV tape.
